I signed up for this little songwriter contest that Guitar Center is advertising. I would not usually bother with a contest, but the prize is to record with some big time producer. Recordings are expensive, so it would be nice to have it paid for. In fact, if HaShem wants me to make a nice recording for Him again, I told Him that He has to pay for it. I really do want to record some new songs. So we will have to wait and see. If you are interested in being a part of this, please click around over to my facebook page:

We just returned from our trip to Israel. Tension is high in anticipation of the anti-Semitic Durban III Conference and the threat of an imposed declaration of Palestinian Statehood at the UN. Military forces in Israel are ready to defend against any shady riff-raff.

Ted Pearce brought his Jewish acoustic rock to The Bridge in San Martin CA. last Saturday. We love him. It was a blessing to see him and worship The G-d of Israel with him. Buy his albums here.

Dead Raised To Life next live concert 7/23 Metropolitan NYBA Chapel, 236 W. 72 St., NY, NY 10023 (btwn. Broadway & West End Aves) 4:30PM

This is happening after Shabbat service of Kehilath HaDerekh (Congregation of The Way).

Just recorded this straight to YouTube. It needs to be re-recorded properly. This song needs to be heard, regardless. Here are the lyrics:

The road was wide open ahead and behind. The shoulders of the road were as far as the line that was winding down the middle in a jagged divide. And i was going nowhere.
I could drive anywhere that i felt inclined. Entitled to things i did not deserve or provide. I was going nowhere i was empty inside.

Running on empty.
My hot-rod was fast.
Running on empty.
i thought it could last.
i was spinning my wheels.
Burning rubber and steel.
Peeling up gravel and dust.
On a tank filled with nothing.
Destruction chasing my heels.

Wicked eyes would penetrate me from inside the rear-view mirror hanging on the windshield. As i tried to see behind the devil in the backseat and i was going nowhere.
When in my headlights shown on a sign in the night. It was a dead-end sign. I knew I’d reached the end of the line. I was going nowhere. I was empty inside.

Running on empty.
My hot-rod was fast.
Running on empty.
i thought it could last.
i was spinning my wheels.
Burning rubber and steel.
Peeling up gravel and dust.
On a tank filled with nothing.
Destruction chasing my heels.

Out from my darkness i cried out to You.
In my desperation i knew only You could save me from this car wreck and clean up the road. Then pave a new one in light of the old. A road that would take me to the city of gold. in a vessel that was broken away from the mold.

i left it all behind. Groping for the wheel like the blind. No matter what i did i couldn’t save my own life.
I pulled off the road and realized that i couldn’t go any further.
All i could do was cry out to You and ask You to drive. I didn’t know that You had already paid for my ride.
I was going nowhere i was empty inside.

Running on empty….

Now I’m alive and this time i am not going to drive. I have given the wheel to someone who is greater than i.
He drove me out of darkness into the light and i am going somewhere.

B”H! Thanks Karina for posting this. Volume is rather over-driven, but that’s my fault for being the soundman as well as the musical guest.
Also, don’t forget you can download i Love Your Word here :

dead raised to life will be at Sarah’s Café, a Christian coffehouse at Pillars of Faith Church, on Saturday, June 11 2011, 7PM. All are welcome. Free with RSVP

For if the dead are not raised, then the Messiah has not been raised either — 1 Corinthians 15:16”

O L-rd, open my lips that my mouth may declare your praise.

Blessed are You, HaShem, our G-d and the G-d of our forefathers, G-d of Abraham, G-d of Isaac, and The G-d of Jacob, G-d who is great, mighty, and awesome;
G-d The Most High who bestows loving kindnesses that are beneficent, and creates everything;
Who recalls the good deeds of the Patriarchs and in love will bring a Redeemer to their children’s children for the sake of His Name, with love.
O King, Helper, Savior and Shield.
Blessed are You, HaShem, Shield of Abraham.
You are mighty eternally, O L-rd, You revive the dead, You are abundantly able to save.
Who sustains the living with kindness, Who revives the dead with mercy abundant,
Who supports the fallen, Who heals the sick, Who releases the confined, Who maintains His faith to those asleep in the dust.
Who is like You, O Master of mighty deeds? Who is comparable to You, O King Who causes death and restores life, and causes salvation to flourish?
And faithful are You to revive the dead.
Blessed are You, HaShem, Who raises the dead to life.
